The first time I looked through the viewfinder of a 6x7 and saw someone else’s gaze hit mine, I fell in love with the way photography can freeze time. Gradually, as my images pushed into the language of painting, I became addicted.

I wanted to add complexity to this practice and so, naturally, I found filmmaking. The layering of sound, image and story felt like a natural extension to this way of seeing and the way performance tended to change these cold elements into pure feeling is what I continue to chase with every project.
